The whole honda d-series engines versus the F-series engines, who is better. You don't hear a how lot about F-series but are they truly better than d's? How bout the vtec for both? I can't make up my mind. :banghead:

would the F's even fit in a 4G?

yeah theyll fit, theres also the F series engine in the S2000. But why would you want one when there are so many more upgrades for D B H and K series engines.

f series engines are very simmilar to h series. The wont fit.
But DOHC will bolt on SOHC
hahaha

No def. wont fit, way to big and heavy.

F and H will fit in a 4Gen

:iagree: People get H-series motors to fit in the 4th gens, so they can get the F-series to fit too. Enjo makes a mount kit for it too; same mounts as the H's. You kids these days ;)
But with all the hassle you have to go thru to get the motor in, you might as well get an H-series. The most powerful F-series (not counting the S2K motor) is the F22 from the '92-'96 Prelude Si (JDM) with 160hp and 148tq. Where even the H23 from the '92-'96 Prelude Si (USDM) has 160hp and 156tq. 8tq is not that big of a deal, but there's also 102cc's more of displacement with the H23.

a civic with an S2K will be blazing fast...imagine with mods, pushin 200+

hmm i thought the newer accord I4's had like 160hp?
Not the newest gen with the k-series

Yeah but it all goes back to that arument of hmm i wanna put a h22a into my crx! Yeah so just stay with the d or b! It will be easier and f's are like accords d-series, potiental can be found but its easier to upgrade

yeh, h-series swaps would probably be more of a pain than the D or B series, and the K, expensive and in my opinion not really worth it (unless you totally adore your civic or crx and want the fastest civic around).

What engines are in the new acuras? All K series? The new TL engine sounds nice to put in a civic, even though i'd much rather have the TL...lol

Nope the '98-'02's have 150hp and 152 tq.

there was a pro team running a N/A F-series in a CRX.

ahh i remember the JDM Accord EURO-R has the DOHC F20b engine , that pushes 200 hp i believe. Its a blue top one very simillar to a h22a

Damn I'm such a moron. I even though about that motor, but for some reason I told myself it was an H-series motor, oops  But it only has 145tq (compared to the 161tq of the jdm h22a) and is around $1000-1200 more than the H22a. But still definently a worthy swap. I got to stop smokin' crack ;)

Are you saying you can stick an h series dohc head on a f series sohc? If so, then I might be going to an accord in the later year.

I don't think the heads are swap-able, especially from SOHC to DOHC. Probably a difference in head bolt pattern. When I get bored tonight (and I will) I'll take some screen caps from both manuals (accord and prelude) and show the bolt patterns and such.

bisimoto comes to mind for some reason, but i'm pretty sure i'm wrong.

I do know that he used an adaptor plate and a d-series transmission, and it was not VTEC. SOHC love :P

Good luck getting a s2000 motor (f20c i think?) in our car, considering the s2k is a rear wheel drive. Not saying it isn't possible, just not very easy.

F's are nice torquey motors for hondas..and yeah bisi runs a f22 w/ a d tranny..I have a article on it but I'm to lazy to look it up pretty cool though. I don't see why anyone would even wanna think about putting a F series in a civic/crx tho..if you were gonna go w/ the trouble I'de just do h22.

unless you're talking about grades..then yes F's are always worse than D's!

Thank god you found it. I was searching for like 30 min and found nothing.
Yeah but it does work!!! The f22b2 out of a 94-? accord EX Vtec I4, with a h22a head!!! Yeah very cool!

i dont know what bisi's f-motor is making right now but his d motor was pretty powerful. compression was over 16:1 and he was making like 240 or 260hp.
