1999 Piece of crap.

I bought a 1999 GMC Jimmy exactly one year ago from a dealer. I purchased the extended warranty for 3700.00+100.00 deductible and the truck cost my 14,000. In all of one year I have replaced, water pump, wheel bearings(both sides) oil coolant lines, power mirror switch(molding for power mirror switch after dealer broke the other and hid it from me), signal switch(indicator that tells you signal is on was annoying as hell), check valve and no heat...twice coolant flush. This week I bring it in because I have a ticking coming from the top end and losing coolant again only one month after the water pump went, manifold gasket they say,the ticking it seems is because the lifters are shot, they replace the lifters and the very next morning the ticking returns. I take it to the dealer again and they remove the oilpan and there is a sludge build up. Now it is sounding like they are going to pull the old " you didn't do oilchanges" thing. Let's be serious here...I have over 20,000 invested in this piece of crap...every 5000 klms that truck went in. I know that the posts to this thread will include stuff like "you should have sold" etc. Here's what I am thinking...it seems everyone in this Forum needs something for their Jimmy. Leave a post and i'll part this pig out and recoup some of my money. I work for a GM outsourcer and my father worked there, my father in law works there now. You try and support the means that have supported you and you get nothing.

How many miles are on the Jimmy? You bought it used? What do you expect buying a used car anyways. The problems you have had are all common Jimmy/Blazer problems. They dont occur to "everybody". Apparently you just got a crappy one, and if it is used I seriously doubt (I dont even care if your Mother sold you the truck) that they took care of it. Sludge build up in those motors (4.3L) is not easy and it even has an oil cooler, so I know whoever had your truck before you really sucked. Dont be a creep towards GMC because of your Jimmy that was used. I had a 2000 Jimmy 4 door, 4x4 SLT and I loved the hell out of it, I traded it in for my 2002 Envoy 4x4 SLT. Every car manufacturer has problems that are common. Look at your favorite - Dodge. The 2.2 and 2.5 liter engines back in the 90s were known for eating head gaskets. The A604 automatic FWD trans are known for not lasting much longer than 60,000 miles. The 5.9 V8 engines are known for bad intake gaskets.
When I think of the name Jimmy or Blazer, right away the first thing in my mind is "wheel bearings". The second is "oil cooler line leaks". You bought the truck, you should've done some research. Now get a life.

You have a warranty, they cannot deny problems.
Talk to a lawyer and return it to the dealer. There is a thing called a lemon law.

Ok hotshot, you have proved your point that you know your stuff. You are like...a...hero to me now. How many Klms you ask? Well the GM dealer who sold me the truck obviously felt it would warrant a warranty, it even went through the 151 Point inspection. Could it be possible that there is something wrong with the motor...gawd forbid huh? After I forked over the cash for this two year/60,000klm warranty it was nothing but a headache. As for your instantaneous insight on the flaws regarding my vehicle, wouldn't be cool if GM, knowing the wide spread problem, recalled these trucks and replace the inferior parts(oil coolant lines, wheel bearings) with what you deserve? What you payed for?
Well I am done....i'm off to NAPA to see if they have any cheap lives on the shelf they could part with.
Peace.
