Check the fluid level. Too high or too low can cause some very strange behaviors in auto trannys.
Be sure to read your owner's manual for the correct procedure.

How old is the trans fluid? Id try to drain and refil with new fluid if you're over 20,000 miles... The owners manual says 30k, but with the history of having bad SS trannies in the 5th gen, better safe than sorry.
I have 16k on mine, and Ive already changed out the fluid 2x already, with SYNTHETIC fluid... Shifts much smoother!

the fluid wasn't old at all, if u consider 20k old...i guess it was just my fault for not changing it every 6k b/c of the way i USED to drive it....i used to drive it harddd but not anymore....where do you buy SYNTHETIC tranny fluid at? how much? i always thought honda fluid was the best u can get for your car? which brand do u prefer thanks..im lookin to flush n fill it again....make it fresh....

Supposedly the Honda stuff is good...But youcant get better than 100% FULL synthetic stuff. It wont breakdown as fast and wont leave crap in there in the process... I use the AMS OIL ATF synthetic fluid..The make the same for manual trannies too... You'll notice the big difference, I swear!

the one thing i hate about the lude is the tranny. unfortunatly both manual and sport shifts are notorious for problems. the sport shift problem is so bad that i have heard there is a one month waiting list for replacement of them in england. and i cant even give a number of people i know off that have had synchro problems in manuals (including myself). i believe there are class action lawsuits in progress as we we speak about 5th gen tranny's. supposedly honda has admitted to the problem but will not issue a recall because the car isnt in production anymore.

hhmmm...all of the sportshift tranny problems I heard about is limited to 1998 and older.... Have youheard any for the 99 years +??? I think they had a problem, but fixed the weak links in the 99 models +.....I cant believe they would continue to make the tranny crappy all these years...

Great for most manual transmission, but not always for an automatic. :(
Perhaps you mean Redline Synthetic ATF?

I'd call redline directly, and make sure that they recommend it for use in your specific tranny. Same with AMSOIL. The problem is that Honda does not list the grade or specs necessary for choosing another, equivalent ATF; and they strongly advise against that in the service manual.
IMHO, I'd just stick with the "Genuine Honda Premium Formula Automatic Transmission Fluid".

yeah, my dad told me not to stick any other kind of fluid besides the honda one, b/c it was made for it...but on updates, my tranny is normal again now, ever since i changed the fluid n stopped driving like i was a speed racer....but it still slips a bit when changin t 3rd gear every morning for a while, til the tranny is up, den its normal again...and just for say...yesterday i changed my oil, n decided to go with mobil 1 synthetic....MANNNN...who can go wrong with that...haha...
