Distributor shorting out

The electircal components of the distributor keep getting fried. It takes about a half our of driving before the distributor goes out and its time to tow the car home. I redid the grounds in the engine bay yet the distributor still keeps shorting. Before it goes, when i give it some gas the lude is very laggy like there is no spark but eventually it picks up. If I continue drving after it starts getting laggy, eventually the distributor will short out. Any help is appreciated. BTW: 93 vtec.

i have no clue...but heres a shot in the dark. check the voltage coming in to the distributor, and check to see if theres some sort of condensation or something building up

is it jumping fire inside the distributor cap? too wide a spark plug gap will cause the plugs not to fire and the spark will jump in side the distributor cap.

I know that my 97 lude had a recall on the distributor and it was changed for free... maybe call a honda certified company and ask if there are any recalls on your car and if they have been fixed already or not
