i have a 2004 2500HD duramax diesal 4x4 and i had a company put a 6 in exhaust on it and i love it my question is what should a do next to imporve performence some people have said to "chip it" some have said to replace the stock turbo and others have said a "banks six gun" i know what the turbo does but what about the others which would help the most?

I dont know what the hell it was.. But I saw something briefly on a truck modifying TV show.. It made that Duramax SMOKE. I think it was an electronic chip of some sort. But either way it was going flipping FAST. It was a huge power gainer, though Im unsure of the price or product, but I know it had 5 different settings to it.. If that helps.

If I were you , I'd invest in the Banks six gun chip. It seems to have the most overall performance gains, and multiple settings from stock, to towing, to kickin some muscle car ass!! Also look at getting an aftermarket intercooler, and larget intake tubes. If your really wanting some power, check out a propane injection kit.

how does the banks six gun thing work

Its just a chip that you plug in, under the hood, to the existing factory wiring. From what I understand, it changes the injector pressure, the injector pulse width, the pulse time (allows more fuel into cylinder) and also bumps the timing.(i think). you can get a lot of horsepower and torque out of stock diesels now adays just by adding a performance chip, definately somthing to consider
