My stalling 1992 Lumina Euro 3.4

I have had a problem with my 1992 Chevy Lumina 3.4 Euro. It keeps stalling and no one seems to be able to tell me why. The Chevy Dealer will not run a scan on it if the check engine light does not come on, my mechanic said it will be like finding a needle in a haystack. Just spent 460.00 to change the Power steering solinoid, but stalling is still there. I was told to disconnect the TCC by one mechanic, another said not too because I will damage the transmission. It only stalls either at a stop or when in slow traffic, backing off the gas causes the idle to drop alot, most of the time it comes back up, but other times it just stalls. It has so far always started back up again. I had a problem with the air conditioning about a month ago, the compressor was not coming on, we found a wire that had become kinked, we unkinked and tapped all the wires back up and the air is now working, but it seems that was when the stalling problem started. I am posting this hoping someone else has had the same problem and can give me some ideas as to what the problem might be.
I should have mentioned that my Anti-lock light has been on for about the same amount of time, I was told to disconnet the bulb, or cover it up by the same mechanics that told me to disconnect the TCC.

When you start the car back up and put it in gear does it die again right away? If it stays running after you put it back in gear you can rule out the TCC. It sounds to me like a vacuum leak.

Thanks for your reply, The car keeps going. Most of the time when it stalls I'm in slow traffic, I can put it in neutral, start it back up, put it in drive and keep going, people behind me probably never even noticed it stalled. Now if I could only learn to brake with my left foot I would never have to let off the gas. We had a friend, who runs a shop, put some kind of tester on the car and said all the numbers were great, car is running awsome, except for the daily stalling. The car actually stalled while he had the tester on and there was no difference in the numbers right before and right after starting it back up. Do you know if a vacuum leak would show up on scans the repair shop runs. We just had another shop "fix" it by changing the power steering solinoid, I'm planning to take it back to them this week, I'll be sure to ask them to check for a vacuum leak. I also noticed it happens in the hot weather after longer runs (25-45 min) It has only stalled once in the morning when the air is cooler, after about 40 min I stopped at a bank machine and it stalled in the parking lot. I got the car in September of last year, it stalled once about a week after I got it, and then it was fine until June when the weather turned hot. Anyway, I'm rambling on. Thanks for your suggestion.

Checked the vacuum lines we can see, have to check underneath after the rain. Noticed though that only one of the two fans were running. Does anyone know if they are both supposed to run at the same time? Also it was the Power Steering High Pressure switch that was changed, not Power Steering soliniod(for all I know theres no such thing).

Only one fan should run when the engine gets too warm. The other fan will kick in when you cut on the ac.

Took the car back to the shop and they can't find the problem. It keeps stalling for me but won't do it for anyone else. Guess I'm just going to have to live with it (or ditch the car and get something else) Any way thanks for looking and the suggestions.

Read the threads posted by pcosmasc. Maybe there is a similarity. I don't feel like reiterating at all. But the solution was a new fuel pump. Cost was 160. it has fixed it! So Far!

Search for stall problem and may try some simple methods to test.
My car has stall problem 1 month ago. The problem finally is on AIC ( kind of air intake control).
