Hello out there!
I have a 3000gt base manual with no mods. Recently the check engine light came on and won't turn off. I get a p1400 error Auxillary Emission Control on an OBD-II computer. After errasing the code the car tends to decrease rpm on idle and turns off. This problem persists until the check engine light comes on again. How do I fix this problem. Thank you.

I don't know off the top of my head exactly what you need to do, but this might get you started. For the error code for a mitsubishi I found
Manifold Differential Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
Google came back with these links as talking about the manifold (the second page required a search to find it).

Did you have any luck fixing this problem?
I am having the exact same issues. Please let me know the outcome.

let see here p1400
p is for powertrain
then 1 is for manufacturer
4 is for auxillary emissions
and 00 i think that is for dpfe circuit low input
now dpfe is delta (which also means differential) pressure feedback egr
so you are getting a low circuit input from your dpf egr
Now based on the breakdown of the code and what it means i would check your egr. Now I am basing this completely on diagnostic information and the fact that I assume your profile is right that you have a 97, pre 96 no EGR. Also it may be your rear o2 sensor, or even one of the vacuum hoses as these all are part of your auxillary emission control. I know most often EGR codes are due to carbon in you EGR

I had that same problem with my 97 VR4. You need a new pressure manifold sensor.
Part # MD305600
It will cost about $100 at rockville mitsubishi with the 3si.org discount.
This was my thread on 3si.org that tells all....
