'92 Si

I need the ups and downs of this ride (h23a1 engine).

Since the death of my '90, I'm taking a look at this 92 for 3200. It's got a rebuilt title so I think I'm going to offer 2200. It's got minor bodywork that will need to be done but it seems to run like a sewing machine and the interior's immaculate.
I just need people's experiences with this ride. Is it a decent car or should I look further? Thanks

$2200 is a great deal for a 4th gen. si!

my 92si has no downs and a lot of ups. the only down i had was throwing it in 2nd when redlining in 3rd bad mistake on my part. Nothing was hurt by it just a lose rod easy fix. So from every sense i bought my car a year ago zero Problems. I say get the si i think 2200 is a good price

Cool, thanks for the responses. I took it out for an hour today and drove it around... only 3 real flaws I found were a loose window motor on the passenger door (window went chugga chugga on it's way down, no biggie, I can pull the panel and fix that), there's a 'bulge' of rust under the sunroof seal which will cause problems eventually, but since it's one that pops out the top (not like the interior sliding sunroof like my 90 had), I think that'll be an easy replacement, and the climate control vent flaps don't respond to the buttons when pressed, it seems to be stuck in the vent position. The lights illuminate in the buttons so I think when someone replaced the stereo, they pulled loose the wires inside the dash.. I don't know if the guy's going down to 2200 but I'm going to run a code scan for the check engine light (comes on over 3000 RPMs, doesn't affect running and resets when the ignition is off so I think it's just an O2 sensor or something exhaust related), I'm going to offer 2300 and see where we go from there..

My vents had problems too, the male pin on the printed circuit board developed cold solder joints. They would work when they wanted to, I resoldered mine, but it's a pain. See post to Skeppy (a/c problems)

cool man, thanks for the heads up.
I'm pretty sure it was knocked loose when the aftermarket stereo was installed.

I haven't gotten the car yet. he went from 3200 to 2850, but I don't want to give more than 2500 for it. That sunroof is going to be a pain soon and I don't like the fact that the ac needs to be charged... I don't know where the leak is.
