Crank stuck

ok, i have a 93 prelude si with 4ws and an h23, and i was putting a new timing belt on the other day, i finished up installing everything, started spinning the crank and it just stopped. so i took everything back off, figuring that i put a belt on wrong, then for kicks, i decided to spin the crank with no belts just to make sure. It still stopped, so i turned it backwards and it spins real nice and freely till it hits the same point where it procedes to just stop. I'm stumped, anybody got any ideas? it would be a huge help if i got some feedback on this.

did the timing belt break?

yea, i was cruizing along at like 40, the timing belt snapped, and bent 10 valves. I replaced the whole head because i got a super deal on a real clean one with the valves in it, it just seemed like a good idea. the head is installed correctly, my buddy who had done it a ton of times did it for me.

I see where Lude's going though, it sounds like you've got a piston hitting a valve.

is there a way i can ceck that without pulling the head, because i dont really want to again.

wait, it only stops on one piston, and two go up and down at a time, wouldnt it stop it at two different points, and timing belt isnt on anymore, and the cams are at a point where they dont touch anything, ive rotated them like four times to different spots and spun the crank and each time it does the same thing

the cams will always have at least one valve open.... if you truly think it's a crank issue, pull the head and then spin the crank.

couldnt i just pop the cams out?

you could do that as well, the valves will spring closed. I figured it would be easier to pull the head than remove and then re insert the cams.
I'd still recommend pulling the head, if you've got a bent valve, it's not going to close and the piston's still going to hit.
I'm sure someone with more experience will have a better way, this is just my solution.

i'll try the cams first, then if that doesnt work, i'll pull the head.

ive been really busy lately, and i finally had an afternoon to myself, so i took the head off and suprise suprise, there are not only bent valves, but broken ones as well, i have a few pictures, when i figure out how to post them i will.

Anybody got any info on f22b's, the DOHC one. I've read hp numbers from like 145 up to 160, and i can find those for like 400-500 less than a h23. if it indeed does have the same power, i may just scrap the h23 and go for that. and to whoever is going to respond with "get an h22" i dont have enough money, believe me, i've thought of it.

oh, the f series has iron sleeves i believe, which would make the engine work better with boost if i ever choose to go that route, so if the f22b does indeed have the same power as my h23a, then i think i may just swap them.
