shifting hard as in grabbing hard? or shifting hard as in the transmission is "clunking"?

I have a 92 Si prelude automatic. Typically the shift points when barely tapping the pedal are a notch under 3000 rpms into second. And all under 3000 rpms after that. If you get higher rpms when shifting then could be trans on the way out. When the car shifts I do feel it. Its a tight shift not nessesarilly hard. You will feel the shift though. When accelerating hard the shift should be smoother actually. Check the trans fluid make sure it is a clearish pinkish red color. I had mine changed at 28.000. I have 35,000 on the car now. hopefully this helps.
