imo, the rsx type-s will win in all categories.

Although, if your friend doesn't know how to drive, and you do. You can possible edge him out in the quarter mile.

Good Luck.

I 100% agree rsx will win hands down... but I think a Prelude will be cheaper, and if you want to tune it there is a bit bigger engine and more space in the engine bay...

drivers race. specs are awfully close, except he's 200 pounds lighter.

There was an Rsx at the track this weekend running consistent 15.8s and when my stock prelude was completely stock ran 15.85... to me a very close race

...Prelude VTEC or SH vs RSX-S.... it's a DRIVERS RACE and whatever people say there's no way the RSX weights less then a Prelude NUFF SAID!!!

if you can do math then you can figure out there is about a 200 lb difference... heres the FACTS BUDDY

2001 prelude SI...Curb Weight: 2954 lbs. ... the SH is even heavier

2004 RSX ... Curb Weight: 2789 lbs

difference.... 165 lbs

well, if you're going to account for every pound, you'll have to include the driver's weight as well.

when you get your sh take out your spare tire and rear seats take out your passenger seat and throw a couple of paint can's in your friend trunk when he isnt looking.

lol, might as well disconnect your p/s pump while your at it (very quick job, just don't overtighten the belt when you go to reinstall it), oh, and do like the pros that shave off every gram, go with the atkins diet and starve before the race ;)

Dude just get a 94-96 Lude VTEC with some low miles around 70-100 and u'll smoke that stupid RSX-S which is fast but not much faster then any PRELUDE!!! and for the money therefor i think not worth IT!!!

My sister just bought the new RSX type S 6 speed. And Even though my 96 Si beats her on every race home, it smokes me in the 1/4 mile. But the driver is half the car ;)

Maybe a Vtec lude could beat it.

I've beaten rsx type s, with my 95 prelude vtec. Its a drivers race.
My stock prelude does 0-60 in 6.7 1/4 mile in 15.10

93-96 Vtec drag should kill RSX S no problem, also
if 92-96 with JDM swap 2.2l 200 Hp should kill RSX for good.

It's A Driver's Race!!

as i see it, they are both very nice cars. i would own either one. but you also have to keep in mind that a 99 lude is 5 years old. your buddy is getting a new car. a new car has all it's "claimed" hp. a used vehicle will only loose hp over time.

yes, a drivers race. honda/acura killed the prelude and integra lines so they could consolidate them into the RSX and sport model accord, so they arent that different except in looks

just to note: ive kept up with an rsx-s on the highway, and ive got a slightly modified 3rd gen. (yes, i know it would absolutly kick my ass in the quarter, but hey...)

yea, just do a few sit ups before you run, dont forget the standard weight loss procedure of spare tire, back seat, passenger seat, and all spare carpet

prelude will beat that over priced flashy car

99teggyGSR
07-24-2004, 09:09 PM
i would say its driver's race...yea sure the type s is 200lbs lighter than the lude but the what the lude lacks in weight will make it up by torque...cause the lude has 158lbs/ft torque whiles the type s only has 142lbs/ft torque.. so i say driver's race

kkiepvvessau

it's not a driver's race , RSX S have 200 HP crank but lack of torque, that mean can't put to the ground ... same thing with S2000 have impressive 240Hp but can't put those Power to the ground that's sad.

I love my Lude for it's "TORQUE"

<<<<< happy Prelude OWNER!! :naughty:

tho I take back what I said..a RSX-S should beat out a Lude...but not by many car's...

What are you talking about? An s2000 can put its power to the ground way better than a Prelude or RSX ever could.

''' SiGNAL748 '' i didn't compare RSX S or Lude to S2000 . I'm just saying that S2000 Have power but can't not put all power to the ground. Evo would be one of the best car 270 Hp with 271 Torque . The Power crank out , it put all to the ground instead going somewhere .
