is there any way to get more power out of the automatic preludes shifting into 4th, i have a big need for speed and the past 2 times i have shifted into 4th gear at about 7,000 rpms, it seems the car has no horsepower and no pull, the only thing i can think is that when i shift at 7,000 it doesnt seem like the VTEC is kicking in at 4th gear, any ideas, if i wait till about 7500 or so and shift and the VTEC is already engaging, do you think this would make a noticable difference? is it safe to run it to almost 8000 rpms? Also, is there a governer or restricter on the automatics??

Do you have a 97 prelude. Don't all 5th gen ludes have manual trans????
I was reading all the specs on all the lude built and they said N/A to automatice unless they just never tested them because they are weak and manual is way better IMO

all 5th gens do have an h22 here in US
the base lude comes in 5spd manual or with an automatic "sportshift" tranny that WILL die before the car hits 50k miles.
the TypeSH 5th gen only comes in 5spd manual and has ATTS

really?
my 2000 SS lude hit 89K with still no hesitation, and my friends 97 SS Lude just turned 155K and he's been FI with the FMAX kit ( around 9 PSI ) for like half the time and it's still showing no probs
maybe we just got lucky, cause ive heard of bad bad things about Honda automatics, but personal experience tells me otherwise
