K i have a 95 vtec lewd. It has 140k miles on it and i get that annoying ticking which i always thought was the lifters. ( and am still pretty sure it is). So a month ago i readjusted all of them with a feeler guage. the noise quieted down quite a bit, but about 1500 miles later the noise came back... not near as bad but is still there. i am just gettin ready to change my oil, so hopefully this will help, even though they say it can take almost 1000 miles for oil squirter for your valves to completely replace itself... The only reason why i am askin this because i was reading other post and the guy said that the tickticktick he heard was his injectors?!?! Am i completely crazy or is he... Please correct me if am wrong or gimme some advice on how to fix that tickticktick... and yes i know H22 have solid lifters so it will never COMPLETELY go away... I guess thats what we take for being able to rack so high and not float out eh...

THANKS
ROB

I was asking my pop about what that tick was the other day, and he said the fuel injection. He knows his shit, as he's been in the parts business for years. I'll try to get a further explanation.

As far as I know, it's pretty much a staple of honda engines to have that injector and valve tick.

EDIT: I did a little research and found out that the ticking is from the ball and spring expanding and contracting with the injector pulses. It's very normal with most injectors.

that's refreshing to hear. I thought it could only be the valves ticking close or the spark jumping across the sparkplug gap, but I didn't know injectors could make that type of noise. You'd think it would make a *SQUIRT* *SQUISH* noise.

Get a mechanics stethoscope and listen on the valve cover. If you hear a particularly loud tick/tap in one area, you may need to adjust one or two individual rockers.
