are SH's heavier

could a base prelude beat a SH in a drag race. my friend told me that SH's are a couple hundred pounds heavier than the base model!

SH's are heavier than base models, though I don't think it would be more than 150-200lbs.

you figure though... 100lbs=0.1 in a quarter. people spend a lot of money trying to shave 0.1 off there times.

88 lb difference = negligible

The difference really isn't weight, its the drivetrain loss. THere is about 5% more drive train loss, because of the ATTS. Any difference between the two could be made up by a good/bad driver.

Driving skill is most important. If both drivers were exactly the same, then the base has the advantage on a straight course.
