Retro AC on 86 car

Has anyone converted over their AC system to the new Freon? I now see kits available to convert the system.

Will this harm the current compressor?

i recently did a retro on my 88 lesabre and had no problems with the compressor. the only thing i recommend replacing when you do the retro is the accumulator.
