hI ALL,
I put H2 seats in my 03 Silverado, but now the service airbag light comes on. It seems to be on the driver side, same problem if I just unplug the Silverado seat. It fixes itself if I put the original seat back in (power), but I really want the H2 seats as they have the power seat back, lumbar, etc.
All the power options work once installed, just get the airbag warning light...anyone know if I can rewire the pinouts on the H2 seat to avoid this?

Hi all,
I'm trying to finish up the projects on my 03 Silverado. One of them was to replace the seats since I have the std. power (no lumbar, no power back) driver and manual passenger seat.
I bought H2 seats and they look great in it. The wiring harness connectors are compatible, but the wiring is different. If I plug either seat in (or just unplug the originals for that matter), the "service airbag" indicators come up on the dash. If I put the originals back in, it goes away.
That being said, when the H2 seat is installed, all power/lumbar options work fine (not heat, as I don't have heat control switches). I had it in for six weeks, but the airbag light was bothering me, so I'm trying to diagnose it.
Here are diagrams of the plugs, original seats, and the H2 seats...anyone have any ideas? By the way, there are no airbags in the seats themselves, or the doors, etc. Jut the 2 in the front.
I figured I'd start with the driver side (passenger side is going to be more complicated due to the airbag pressure switch which turns the airbag on/off; I have some ideas on that though if I can get the driver side to go in w/o airbag warnings) and see if I can get it. I NEED HELP!

As you can see, I've removed the seats from the Silverado for now, but hopefully I'll get the wiring resolved and have them back in in a week or so.
Okay...
The H2 seats do just bolt right in...at first that made it seem a little too simple...and the connectors plug right in.
I got some diagrams for the Silverado, now I need to get the same ones for the H2. Your orange wire shouldn't be changing to pink at the other side of the connector...that's odd.
Orange is confirmed as Battery Postive Voltage
Pink would be dealing with the control of passenger heated seats or airbag suppression module (passenger side only)
Black is definitely a ground.
The black/white is the left seat belt switch [indicator].
The 2 wires in "J" that go from blue to yellow are seat position indicator switches.
The green wire is not on the H2's and is another seat position switch. This is most likely where my problem is. Also, the H2 only has one Yellow in J, which is another seat position indicator switch.
It seems that since the seat positions can't be read, the airbag light is set off as it doesn't know the proper pressure to inflate at...diagrams to follow...I'm not very skilled when it comes to the diagrams...and will probably need the H2 diagrams b4 I can make sense of it all...

Not yet...but maybe my diagrams will help you..as long as they're both from a silverado, you should be able to trace it with these diagrams...

i thought maybe i could fool the computer and take the sensors off my manual seat and wire it in can't remember if the little metal piece is between the sensor when the seat is all the way forward or back but think i can figure that part out.don't know how to do that for sure on the passenger side it has a sensor in the seat to tellif there is someone in the seat and if they weigh enough for the airbag to work thanks debi

In all honesty you have to take the whole wiring harness of your ild seat and put it in the h2 seats seams redundant but it totally works when you do it that way the computer under the drivers seat is the same just the wiring is different and the check airbag light is on because the passenger seat has a sencer in it that checks weight of the passenger for the airbag but if you wore the old harness in the new seat it's totally works awesome I put black h2 seats in my avalanche
