Prelude beats Integra

Why does everyone need to pick on my Prelude. I was on my way home from work and a white Integra with an exhaust and a BIG fin pulls behind me from off of the highway. He was on my bumper for miles and wouldnt get off of it. He had a whole other lane to pass me with and it was starting to piss me off. So I tapped my brakes to let him know to back off. He pulls along side of me cussing so I told him to pull over so I can stomp him. He apolagized and said that he only wanted to race. I brought my car to a stop and said lets do it. When he said go his tires spun and i shot off like a rocket. I took my speedometer to 138 and kept it there till I got back into the city (aprox. 5 miles). I didnt even slow down to see his face. Beating jerks feels good

Does the prelude speedo go to 138?

My 88 Speedo goes to 140

I think alot of the reason I got the jump on him was becuase he lost traction on take off. I dont have any reason to lie. I would have posted even if I lost. And yes five miles or close to it. I live in Iowa man. I drive home from work through the country and there isnt much traffic on sundays around here. Maybe he doent have very good driving skills. There are many things to consider. i've taken my 97 to 135+ for well over 5 miles

and for you asses that don't believe me...i am currently working on getting the video of it online. my friend was in his Ford Probe (CAI, exhaust, 3 puck clutch, 7.5 lb. flywheel [ended up warping and destroying his tranny at the track], intake manifold and larger throttle body), and his needle was topped out at like 120 then you see me (in my mostly stock 97 lude [just CAI and headers]) fly by and dissappear

i also got footage of the bright blue color my headers turned when we finally got to the track ;)

PS: The guy --driving-- the probe WAS NOT the one with the video camera...his friend (the passenger) was (just so none of this "how could he be recording while driving that fast!!!!!" crap turns up :D)

There might be some truth to the top speed thing. Top speed relates to peak horsepower and the coefficient of drag on the body of the car. Since the two cars have similar friction coefficients, horsepower become the primary determinant in who's got a higher top speed.

Oh yea that is why I am flaming you, I flamed you because you can't seem to type a clear and complete sentence. I have nothing against preludes, I almost bought one it was a tuff choice between the two for me, and for your information I gave more than 9000 for my teg, and it is 2 yrs older than your car, so how is it that people can't afford a prelude. And also by saying that "preludes have balls not like those acuras and civics" you should clearify what it is that you are talking about, because if think that you can take on a Acura CL type S, Acura TL type S, or a RSX type S then you are wrong, all 3 of those cars will own you and with alot more class too IMHO.

I fell that if you are going to defend a particular car then you should do it with something more than "Let me tell you". If you look up every Integra vs Prelude thread that has ever been on AF then you would see that every post I have in them has not one flame or negative thing said toward the prelude. Second, comparing Preludes vs. Integras are like comparing apples to oranges. They aren't even same car type.

Integras are not real sport cars. They are small sedans and coupes. Thats why Consumer Reports list the Integra, "Small car" category. it's an upscale civic with more power/luxury, but in the same car category as the civic. What is amazing that it drives and feels almost like a sports car without the sport car price. Acura Integra vs. Honda Civic vs. Toyota Corolla, Acura has better small cars.

Preludes are Honda's division of true sport cars, they only came in coupes version and that's why they cost more than integras. Consumer Reports list Preludes as sport car.

The true sports car of Acura division is the NSX. So you compare the two sport cars, NSX vs. Prelude, Acura has better sport car.

Also, the Acura RSX is like an redesigned integra. In japan, there are no RSX, they are still called honda integra. So, if you are dissin integras, then you are also dissin Acura RSX's. Acura RSX is redesigned into an real sports car, Dropping the integra sedan and replacing it with the Acura TSX. So, RSX vs. Prelude, Acura has better sport car.

The only U.S. Integra that deserves to be called a Sport car is the "Type R" that was sold in U.S. in limited numbers, so the comparison should be:

well i like both integras and preludes... but honestly, unless a built and boosted gsr comes up next to me, he's not going to have much of a chance. and from what i hear, preludes have better topend. and im not making that up, its just what ive been told.

and when ive seen stock specs around, prelude and itr 1/4 times are about the same... so how does a gsr beat a prelude??

comparing to a lower end model integra is not right. take the top prelude type S and top integra type R, then you've got a worthy challenge.

I happen to like Acuras as well as Hondas. This thread turned into something it wasnt supposed to. It was only a race my friends. Have a good weekend.

Honda's sport car is the s2000. Acura's sport car is the NSX. Integras and Preludes are both sport coupes (sedans).
