i am about to send my 944 into the shop for a head change.
i am also changing the water pump while i have it all undone and all.
however, while trying to order the water pump i was asked what "engine range my 944 is. i have a choice of "-01466" and 01467-".
???
what are these numbers?
and how do i figure out what my car's engiine range is?
if n/e of y'all have the scoop on whats goin on i waould very happy to soak up the info that you feed me.
thanx!

I believe they are refering to Vin #s There is a early style pump and a upgraded version. Most cars have been updated. If yours has not its an easy thing to do.

930 guy is right. If you have the earlier WP and want to do the upgrade, you'll need an update kit as well as the newer style WP. Check out www.clarks-garage.com, they have a writeup somewhere on the procedure.
