96 Metro headlight problem

I have a 1996 Metro and it has an issue.
The daytime running lights (headlights) work fine but when I turn the switch to actually turn the lights on...they go off!
I've been turning the parking lights on so I have tail lights and headlights and it works, but I have to manually hold the switch in order to have bright lights so I need to get this repaired. I have been doing some research and it appears these cars have quite a few headlight issues and this seems like recall material to me but what do I know:). If someone can point me in the right direction that would be great and thank you

I have a 96 Metro that had a problem with the headlights not working all the time. I pulled the fuseblock and found the output terminal for the lights was burned. Also, you may want to check the DLR (Daytime Running Lamps) relay.

I'd go with the fuse block. (4th time this discussion has been brought up) Use the search function, and you'll find more details on the past discussions about it.

I did search for "Metro headlight problem" and didn't find anything about this problem. Can you point me to those posts.
When you say "pulled the fuseblock" can you elaborate...under the hood, under the dash?

under the dash.

kicked around under the dash and sure enough the lights came on. I won't have time to look at it for a while and was wondering if fixing this easy or do I have to fabricate something to make it work.
