Hookup (help pls)

i was gonna buy a 1988 honda prelude or something like that and i wondering.......

becuase i wanna make it go zooooom zooom really fast

where should i start i know the basic Intake headers exhaust but after that

keep in mind i want to be moderate becuase am gonna be saving for each piece before i buy it so if u could list the order i should get them, brand names to look for,how much each part cost and labor or at least an estimation, i know its asking a lot but i would be very appreciative of any info


than when im done i can smoke some of the "popular" kids at my skewl who think there saturn with I/H/E is da chit

well, if an '88 Lude is what you want, then the first thing i would do is get an H22. swap it in if you can and then decide wether you want FI (forced induction) or if your gonna go NA(naturally aspired). then come talk to us...oh, and you should post this in the Honda/Acura Forum. you'll have great help there.

Side Note: if your objective is smoke your punks at school in theyre saturns...then getting an H22 by itself should do the trick. trust me on this. have fun.

hrm how much money you got to spend? you can find older 4th gen's around for pretty cheap these days, i think the 4th gens start in 92

i plan to have around 2 grand in march

yea its not a lot but its what i got to work with

so ima save my money and slowly mod my car

just tell me what u would do if u had an older prelude and wanted to mod it out........agn with what, brand.cost, labor cost

H22A is the current Prelude motor. 200hp, DOHC VTEC 2.2 litre motor. compared to the 3rd gen motor, it's a kick in the ass. but highly unrealistic for a high school kid on a budget.

the 88-92 preludes come with B series motors. if you can afford about $1000, you could get a headswap done. they'd place the head of a Civic Si on your block and jump your HP to 170 or so, with a lot of torque to boot. or for a little bit more, swapping to a B16 or B18C motor would be a good alternative to more power.

as long as you have the power to weight ratio of a stock prelude of that year, you're not gonna be spanking much, except your own monkey... cuz the chicks will drop you like a rock for a dood in a faster ride :D

but seriously, IHE is a good start if you're on a serious budget... tho parts for that car are kinda hard to find. 4th gen and up Preludes are your best bet, or possibly a civic, or older integra GSR
