cherokee tilt steering adjustment

my tilt steering on my 89 cherokee is starting to flop around how does one tighten this up ?>

Its time to replace the steering column. You should be able to find a good one from a wrecking yard.
You can take it apart, and fix, if its just the spring which holds the adjustment lever in place. However, its quicker to juast swap in another one.

this is a common problem with the tilt steering - there are 3 torq tip screws that work loose over time (when I finally got around to fixing mine only 1 screw was still treaded), you have to take the steering wheel off and pull the turn signal assembly aside then you can just barely see the screws - I used a 12" 1/4" dr extension to reach mine instead of pulling everything apart that is normally advised.

thanks for the assist i have it all sorted out just a loose nut . just like the one behind the wheel

oh yes here was the 3 torx head screws and BEHIND them ther was the 2 torx head bolts there were loose
