Heater blower help

help please i have a 95 chevy 2500 silverado 2 wd and all i have is high on the blower speed, is this generally just the switch, or the blower motor the local shop wants a minimum two hours to diagnose the problem, the last time i took somthing to the chevy dealer took 15 mis to put part on and i got charged two hours labor for a 12 dollar brake switch, please any help is greately appreciated

my 95 silverado is having the same problem.now i'm trying to figure out how to remove the glove box to get access to the blower resistor.any pointers would be of help.

I had the same problem with my 96 4x4. I replaced the resistor in the duct behind the glove box. It's a pain but not impossible. Just remove the glove box and you can see the resitor mounted in the duct. The glove box has a plastic catch on the sided and it drops down. If my memory serves me there are 2 screws and a snap on wiring connector. I also remember another relay that controlled the max. I don't remember for sure. I went to the parts department at the local dealer and looked at the diagram and then bought the parts. I fixed it and had no other problems. I sold the truck at 96K miles.

I have a 98 GMC Sierra K1500. My heater blower quits blowing after long trips. It sounds like it blowing but no air is coming out of the registers. Any tips?

if blower fan is running, sounds like a ducting problem. possible moisture
in duct freezing, does it start blowing after vehicle is running for a while?

The mentioned resistor pack for the blower motor is about controling the blower speeds.If a resistor in the pack is burned out (open),the blower will run,but only on high. The resistor pack is mounted in the heater/cooling duct to use the air flow to help cool the resistors.

My 1995 Silverado only runs on high also. The blower resistor is on top of the heater box, there is NO room to get to it. What's the secret? How does the dash top come loose?

the blower resistor may be accessed through the glove box. open glove box, on the left inside box there is a tab for the travel stop. release the tab allowing the glove box to fully open. remove the wiring harnesses ,remove mounting screws for resistor plate and remove it. as i recall the trickiest step was installing the new resistor set without bending the crap out of it. its a tight fit but can be done. good luck

Can anyone tell me exactly where to find the high speed blower fan relay in a 1997 Tahoe? I suspect its the reason I'm only getting high speed fan, but don't know where to find the thing.

I tried replacing the resistor on my 1991 C1500, and everything appears to be connected. Now I have no power to the blower!

I also replaced the blower itself a couple days ago, and it would only work on the lowest speed setting. Trying it on higher speeds would blow the fuse. I was told that the resistor was the likely problem. I even tried plugging the old resistor back in, and I'm getting no power with that either, even on the low setting that DID work before!

So can anyone give me any hints as to why I'm getting no power at all?
