Any ideas?

70,000 miles on truck. Cylinders 2 and 7 misfire. I have changed all the spark plugs, all the wires, put in new coils for 2 and 7, changed fuel filter, and replaced vacuum solenoid on gas tank with modification kit. The fuel pump has good preasure. Cylinders continue to misfire.

Any suggestions or ideas appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff

try swapping the injectors and or coils wires to another cyl. to see if the mis moves . sounds like the injectors.

Can you tell what the dealership tells you? I have somewhat the same proble also but my said multiple cylinder misfiring. Plus I think this goes along with my other problem on this link.

Bill...i'm not sure you really want to here this but here it goes...

the dealership called today..first they wanted to run a high preasure cleaner through the fuel injection system...i said sure go ahead ($110.00)..the dealership called back 20 minutes later and said..."umm..now we have clogged up the whole sytem and made it worse..we think that the fuel rail is plugged ... so we want to replace the fuel rails, preasure regulator, all the injector, the vacuum solinode (that i changed four days ago!), and drop the gas tank to clean it out." Now they are basically replacing the entire fuel injection system from the gas tank all the way up. FOR A MEAR $2,100.00!!!!! They THINK this is probably gonna fix it.

Seeing that the truck is three years old (i bought it new in january 2001) I don't have alot of choice in the matter.

I hope you don't have this same problem ..(if it helps my gas tank censor has also been bad for the last year..i'm not sure if its related to the same build up..but maybe.)

I'll post to let you know if this resolved the problem.

A trade in may be order in my near future.

some advice...if you or someone you know have the skills..buy the 500.00 in parts...and try this procedure yourself...you may even be able to recycle some of the parts after machine wash out..dealerships won't do this.

Did they replace all that stuff and now its fixed? Because Im thinkin on mine I had the injectors cleaned on mine so that leaves the fuel rails, pressure regulator, and vaccum solenoid. Where is the vaccum solenoid you were talkin about and is there a way to see if its bad?
