If you have an automatic there will be a yellow dip stick on the front of the trans and a drain on the passenger side of the trans. The drain should take a 3/8 ratchet. Drain and fill back up with the recomended fluid and amount. I use Royal Purple synthetic. If you have a manual trans both drain and fill should be on the passenger side of the trans. Both should take a 3/8 drive. Drain and fill till the fluid barely comes out of the fill spot. Filling could be tricky. There is no way to get a funnel in that spot. The best way is to put a narrow hose on the gear lube spout and squeez it in.

Is there any fluids coming out of your exhaust? you could have a blown head gasket if there is. You can also taste the oil off of your dip stick. If it is sweet you have antifreeze in your oil and should change the head gasket
