1999 2dr Tahoe question

Hi!

I'm new to the forum and looked thru the posts before I decided to ask a couple questions. I hope you can help me!

I have a 1999 black Tahoe, 4WD, 2dr and I had a custom Flowmaster exhaust system put in. It's about that time I get new tires, and I want something bigger and more rugged than the factory ones I have on there now. I don't want to modifiy the truck any, just want some hefty looking tires. I've seen some BF Goodrichs (they are pretty knobby looking) on the road that I like, but have no idea any more details than that. Any recs for me?

Also, I'm getting close to 60,000 miles now (I put on 30K in a year almost!!) and want to know what YOU guys think I should have checked (not what the mechanic thinks...I don't trust them, sorry). I haven't had any problems except this clicking noise my heater does. UGH, soo aggravating. Is there a fix to that too?

I decided to go with a Toyo AT tire and have been very pleased with handling for highway, in water and little to no road noise.

as far as not trusting your mechanic (who keeps your vehicle running)
you can contact my neighbor who thinks he's a mechanic and comes to me because he can't get is water pump belt loose. so many people think they can fix cars, theres guys in my shop that cant fix cars. why don't you find a technician that you can trust, look for someone with lots of certifications through GM at you local dealer.

I have a '96 2dr black tahoe sport. I got the BF Goodrich Mud-Terrains and i love them. The biggest that could be fit was 285/75/16 which is plenty big. i recommend getting new rims too, the stock offset is terrible. if you want some pics to see what they look like, check out my truck at http://www.cardomain.com/id/jgood2709

Thanks everyone! I have decided to go look at both BFGs All-Terrain 265 & 285/75/16s.

And I am new to my area and just don't feel comfortable running to the local GM dealer where I didnt buy my car (my dealer is over 2 hours away now). I am definitely going to get some local recommendations.

I've got the 265 all terrains and wish I'd gone with the 285...

I have a '96 2-door Tahoe sport and run 265/75-16 BFG All terrains. I was thinking about the 285/75-16s but when the tires were test fitted the fronts would rub. Either I'm too old or I'm just not into putting up with that kind of stuff anymore. The rears have plenty of room for even a 33" tire stock, but up front under turning the 265/75-16 seems like it's it. Even though stock, I off-road this truck and it simply is not wise to have tires that rub without the suspension even being compressed when turning.

I've been looking for an exhaust, what part # and where did you get it from?
