Crank no Start

'93 Lumina, Died in flight last night. checked fuel level and spark, crank no start. Tried shooting some "auto-start" (carb cleaner) in the throttle body: It ran smoothly till applying acceleration, where it would drop cylinders and eventually die. :banghead: I'm thinking it's the fuel pump, but unsure. Could anyone help me with this and if it is the fuel pump, how can I access it? (or do I have to drop the gas tank).

If you disconnect the wiring connector at the gas tank (should be a 4 wire conncetor with 2 black wires , 1 purple and 1 gray wire) and probe the gray wire on the car side of the connector with a test light to ground, have someone turn the key on..the test light should light for 2 seconds..after that spin the engine over and the light should stay on the entire time.
If the light comes on then the electical control circuit to the pump is working and most likely the pump is bad.
You will need to remove the tank to access the pump.

Yep, Droped the tank and found out that the pump was rusted off. Thanks a bunch for your help
