I wanna put a Civic engine in my 4th gen Prelude

I have a 93 Lude non-vtec. I want to get a Civic Engine, DOHC VTEC and put it in the lude, b/c of widespread aftermarket part support for the Civic. How much would the engine cost.

Why don't you just say "I want to buy a used car, how much do they cost" you would sound just as specific.
Go to www.inlinefour.com or www.hmotorsonline.com and find out yourself.

You are pretty dumb if you want to put that eninge in a prelude. Just becauset the fact that a civic is a lot lighter then a prelude. and but doing this engine swap it would not make you car faster because of the Vtec its over rated. But another thing iam guess you have a non-vtec h23 si right if so i sure with that engine would kill any prelude that has a civic Dohc Vtec. I recommed not to do it waste a time and money. If you really want a new engine go with a H22 every knows they are better. And does fit the trany. IMO

what the hell kinda sell out is that? i meen you figure 2-4grand for a complete engine swap... for that much money you could completely build your botton end (sleeves pistons rods balance etc) and run a medium sized turbo... lets see a stock civic beet a H23 runnin 10-11psi lets see a stock civic beet a stock prelude (assuming the prelude driver knows how to work that torque that the civic doesnt have lol).... btw... i have an H23... fixin to go turbo... and damn i love my car... why the hell would you want to disgrace a prelude with a civic motor... sry this just bewilders me... If you wanna lightning quik car with a huge aftermarket that EVERYONE ELSE is driving too... yeah... get a civic si or an integra gsr... but if you wanna do something crazy... get a lude into the 12's... much more respect for a 12second lude than a 11 second civic or gsr if you ask me

wow...be easy on each other. great point though. i agree one hundred percent. i liked being able to go to wal-mart to buy a turbo for my 95 civic. but the looks with the lude, let alone the potential for speed is way better (to hell with those who say the B16 or B18 has more potential than the monster H22 or even the H23 for that matter).

so whoever wants to swap a B16 or B18 into a lude: have fun getting laughed at, both on and off the track. :lol2:

i admit the B16's and the B18's are great engine... in civics and integras... an H22 or an H23 will make just as much power as either of those with some attention... there a guy on honda-tech forum runnin 423(i think thats the number... its over 400 though) WHEEL horsepower on his H23... and theres a shit load of guys runnin mid 300's on there street cars... a good portion daily drivers... not to mention a B16 with 450hp will have about the same torque(if there lucky) as a 350hp lude... and face it... when your car weighs 2800-3000lbs... u want that torque for off the line... all im sayin is for the money you'd spend in a swap you could make your lude a real street terror
