Lately on ebay ive been looking at these really cheap chips for my prelude. then i look at the negative feedback from the seller and people talk about how its a like 50 cent resistor and that you can get it a radio shack. im just wondering if anyones replaced their iat resistor, if it did anything weird to the car, where i would install it under the hood, what part number is it, how much power it gave you and all that stuff. i greatly appreciate you all taking the time to look at another one of my dumb posts. thanks

I´m not really sure if I know what you are talking about!? Are you talking about an ECU upgrade chip or what?? Any links??

i was looking also at ebay and found the same exct problem. i believe its an ECU chip, that the producer says acts as a racing chip, but that its actually a resistor. ok so heres what i found out, its a 3.3k ohm resistor, the thing is i have no idea where its fitted under the hood and i dont know which it is. so id also appreciate an answerr if someone knows. another thing is that to those interested in buying this chip, I SAY NO, PEOPLE HAVE TOLD ME THAT NO, IOT ACTUALLY ALMOST NEVER WORKS, THEY TRICK YOU, UP TO 20 HP, ACTUALLY MEANS FROM 0 TO 20HP, ITS BULL!!!!

dont do anything to your ECU, not even a resistor, if you want to mod your car do it right, unless you dont care about your car that much

I took the gamble and lost. For $10 I got a resistor that slips into the wiring harness for the IAT sensor. It's supposed to trick the car into thinking the air temp is different so the ECU "fixes" the amount of fuel that is used. Doesn't feel any different to me.

Learn from my mistake....If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!

My general philosophy is that if it costs under $30, it probably won't do anything for your car. Carbonaccord69 above said everything that needed to be said about resistor mods.
