Hey there,
I just bought a Pioneer DEH-P6400 cd player for my 1992 Honda Prelude Si (4WS) and am having trouble hooking it up. Does anyone out there know how to hook this thing up? -how the wires go? Also, my prelude came with a stock cd player and seperate tape deck and radio, will they work together? The wires are different colors now-a-days compared to 10 years ago. The player didn't come with a manual so I have no clue...does anyone know of an online manual that I could download?
Thanks alot to anyone who can help me, I really appreciate it.

i have a 1996 prelude, its the same model but im not sure about the wiring and stuff, ive cut the wires before and connected them one by one by testing them and listening for sound however i woudlnt recommend it, i would tell you to just get a converter kit on ebay, thats where i got mine, the rest is just simple stuff, mine only came with a cd player so by the sound of yours you will proly need a doubledin to single-din converter kit, and the rest is just connecting the converter kit to your cd player's wire harness, plugging it into your cars wire harness, and screw the screws in and then your good to go. ifyou have any more problems just ask

Thanks Plum, I appreciate your reply.
My Prelude came with a cd player, I'm just upgrading it. I'll check out the converter kit- is there any special model I will need or are they all the same? Sorry for my stupidity, I've never used a converter kit. Thanks again.

ifyours came with a after market cd player i would open it up and take it out to see if it already came with a wire harness, cause i have a 96 and it came stock with a casette player, and i doubt your casette player will still work with your new cd player but im not sure i havent dealt with them before, anyways i got my wire harness off ebay,

you could have got a harness out of an autoparts store (advance, autozone, pepboys, etc.) or places like Circuit City, Best buy, etc. for the same/less price without the wait. Anyways, from there just match the color wires up with the harness from the radio. The orange wire will not be used.

I agree with T-Mo because i did ebay for a long time untill i found out that the hidden cost is the shipping you pay so much on shipping and handling also the insureance if you do that can cost a pretty penny. You got riped off. What did you pay total? Like over 10 bucks you could of got a harness for like 5 bucks with out wait at auto part stores in you city. Very smart. :screwy: :loser:
