I have a few problems with my car and need help to fix. Some just require parts, others i just need technical advice. Here's what's wrong:
Heater doesn't work (always cold air)
Driver side window messed up
Driver side taillight cracked/missing
power antenna messed up
one wheel dust cover missing
missing climate control fan speed knob
brake pedal ocasionally feels like it just keeps sinking lower, usually happens when already stopped at stoplights (mechanic says new master cylinder is req'd for $200, is this what it should cost or do i just need to bleed brakes? It only occurs occasionally.)
shifting into 3rd grinds above 4000 RPM (upshift) or above 38 MPH (downshift)
Please see the folowing link for pics and more info...
http://ieng9.ucsd.edu/~dcurcio/prelude/
Any help is much appreciated!!
Thanks!

here's what I think, I could be wrong.
Heater doesn't work: maybe the flap that routes the air is broken or stuck at cold air position.
driver side window messed up: assuming the motor's dead, or need some wd-40 along the sides.
driver's side tail light cracked/missing: go to the junk yard to pick one up, or order from somewhere, if the slots are missing too, then use duct tape. :)
power antenna messed up: another broken part, must replace whole thing. these antennas are made of cheap plastic coils with teeth that are wounded and unwounded by a motor. After long usage, these wear, thin out, and break, that's why the motor can't retract the antenna and extend it all the way. new antenna (the whole thing) cost maybe under $60 retail for OEM part. or just get aftermarket non motor antenna, you can still hook up the remote plug into a manual antenna.
missing stuff: you can find all these things on another 3rd gen prelude in some junkyard that's still good.
brakes: you could have bubbles in your brake fluid line have to fill it up, and have a friend help you out. step, release, step release, to get the bubbles out. long process but not that difficult to fix. or maybe the pump isn't providing enough pressure. you know when it's fixed when you can step on the brakes and hold it without it sinking deeper. should get this fixed quick so you won't get into an accident from not being able to brake.

how do i fix the heater flap? Are you ruling out the heater core?
The driver window motor works. The window goes up and down, but it seems like the glass is off. Are there adjustments i can make to the height or angle of the glass? (did you look at the pics?)
Also, is there any way the master cylinder could be bad? There is one i can get for really cheap if it needs one.
I am looking for the aforementioned parts if anyone wants to sell (cheap) or even better, donate them off your wrecked 'lude.

has anyone had similar problems? can anyone help walk me thru taking apart the heater flap inside the dash or the window assembly inside the door?

to take apart your door, as like with most hondas, there are 2 (+) head screws. one located behind the door handle on the inside, and the other near that little pocket where you grab to close the door. If it's covered with a tab, use a flat head to pop it up. opening the door some more you will notice a fastener under a tab close to where the door meets the chassis. take out that fastener. check along the door to see if there are any more fasteners.
after you unscrew the door handle, you should be able to slide it either to the left or right, then it comes out a few inches, just enough for you to unfasten the clip behind it. It's still attached due to the clip that is around the steel bar that moves when you pull on the handle. swing that clip around(it's shaped like an L where it goes down) to unlatch it and pull up the bar to remove it from the handle.
the same thing goes for the power windows switches. there should be screws for that thing, and slide either to the left or right(I don't remember which). and unplug the harnesses by pushing the release tab and pulling.
after you unscrew the screw in the little pocket, pull the container out.
Next, start pulling the upholstery away from the door starting from the edges. the fasteners should remain on the upholstery as you're pulling it off. make sure you pull away where each fastener is located. go from the left side top, all around to the right side top, then you should roll down your windows. you can plug in the power windows switches in order to operate the motor while the upholstery is off.
take off the cover of the door by pushing or pulling upward because it's hooked over the door edge. next roll up the windows so that it won't be blocking the next step.
there should be some plastic seal that seals that is stuck covering the holes in your door. just slowly take that off so you can get behind it to the window. once you take off most of this plastic, just peel it off, you will have to stick it back on later once you finish.
since the window is up, you can see all the parts of the window apparatus. You can see the wires that are wound up by the motor.

since the seal for the window is gone, you might be able to find one on another prelude in the junkyard, but they have these teeth that grab on to the car when you put it on, so when you take it off another prelude, it might get ripped in the process.
I suggest you go buy a new one from honda. you just tear off the old one, come with fasteners too, and push in the new ones.
you can repair both your window and the seal with just a (+) and (-) screw driver.
regarding your antenna, if you get a new motorized antenna, oem, then to take off your old antenna you have to look at the fastener from the outside. looking down you will notice that one of the rings has some rivets in it enough for you to grab a hold of with a small nosed pliers to turn these counter clock wise, and it should unscrew. keep unscrewing it until it becomes loose.
then open your trunk and unfasten the upholstery on the side of the antenna. you should be able to reach in. it's probably attached by a screw too. you can unplug the remote wire just by pulling. It looks pretty much like the plug you see behind your head unit, like the small mic plug.
let me know if you get this far.

I also have a '91 prelude, my conrtol nob broke on the inside. I went to the local honda dealership and got a new one for $8. A used nob was going to cost me 5 bucks at a junkyard.
As for the broken tail light, junkyard is the best place. Those style tail lights aren't very cheap for some reason new. Mine has a slight crack and it was gonna cost out the *** to replace. I learned to deal with it.
As for the heat, i'd say the flap was stuck too.
It sounds like they's air in the breaks, just bleed them real real good and make sure to put more break fluid in.
I hope this helps at all!
