Strut Brace on Prelude

I've just bought a strut brace from a guy in the US for my UK Prelude (BB3 body, F20A4 Engine) - I've had to make a slight modification on one side as the mount was blocking something, this has been re-routed with no problems.
But...........The way the bar goes across the engine it's touching the something connected to the PGM-FI unit and each time you change gear or let off whilst accelerating hard it knocks on the FI unit - Any suggestions on how to overcome this? (Other than removing the strut brace).

modify/move the FI unit?
or wrap the bar with a piece of silicon hose or something to soften the blow...
