What dirft said!!
But to make a long story short: Get an AEM, Injen or Iceman CAI! A short ram intake will suck up all the hot air from the engine bay because of its location and that will hurt the performance of your car.

CAI's are a bit overrated, for the few degrees difference between the two it's not worth it when you can also suck up water pretty easily, the difference between a short and cold air is nothing you'll feel by the seat of your pants, a SRA is just a bit louder

I had a short ram intake on my old 4th gen 2.0i and the loss in performance was really noticeable on hot days so I would say there IS a difference between the two!!
And the chance that a CAI will suck up water is not that big if you are not driving through deep puddles or anything like that.
But I am a "stock-intake-guy" (JDM Type-S intake) anyways!
