My car has never had any problems but out of no where my exhaust is rattling, anyone know what's wrong with it?

heat shield, indeed. $2 fix with clamp.

wait...i forgot you're a princess so you'll have to take it to the dealer. in which case you should expect it to cost at least $50.

LOL that wasn't nice... but I do have to admitt I know I get ripped off a lot my car for one was like 10 grand and its a 94. Where would I get a clamp? Is it hard to put on?

Wait isn't a heat sheild something that just covers my cat so I can just unbolt that myself right?

Yes, just crawl yourself under your car with a 10mm socket (i think) and unbolt the noisy piece of shield. Weight reduction and noise reduction.

Some might say that if you get your exhaust really hot and park on grass, you will start a fire. I say nay. I drove 3 hours in 100 degree weather in the desert, parked in door-high, brown grass, and it didn't do shit.

actually, if you have an aftermarket header, it's probably rattling as the rear mount probably broke off.

heat shields rarely start rattling on their own unless you ran over a curb and crushed the heatshield... and everything else in between.

Haha mine broke off, I haven't had one for over a year. Damnthing is expensive to replace.

Something like $300 or $400 for a 91 Max.

Wow Zach it's that much to replace? Is it totally horrible if I let it rattle for a bit longer, or is it one of those things that will start to effect the rest of my car?

Yeah it's expensive atleast for the max. But you can get away with out one, I can't remember off hand what the downside is. Oh wait yeah it exposes your CAT, which could mean damage to it probably via rust or something, I'm getting a Z soon anyway so I'm not worried about it right now, that money can go towards my paint job

I'm buying it from Zedcartuner, he's on vaction and last I heard his Laptop was giving him a hard time he was supposed to call Sunday night but I think he forgot to write down my number and it's on his computer. So I'll know after I hear from him, pretty cool guy, awesome deal.

Then why only 3k for it? The Z i was looking at for 3.5k was a 2+2 with bad: paint, injectors, timing belt, water pump, master cylindar, and a few hundred cosmetic issues. It also had 133,*** miles on it.

EDIT: not to mention a rusted out exhaust system.

I asked the guy, he bluntly said after 1 and a half hours on the phone "...I'm very well off and don't need the money, you seem to know what your are doing and have passion for the car..." As soon as I hear from him I'm going to tell him to get his lawyer and write up the paper work. :bigthumb:
