If your buying a used motor from an importer, you probably don't need to break it in, because they supposedly already have 30-40k miles on them.

However, who knows how long they've been sitting with a bunch of sludge and nasty ol' oil & sediment and whatever the hell else found its way in during transport, so I'd take it easy on it for a couple hundred miles and change the oil again (or twice) to help flush any shit out of it.

If it is a new/rebuilt motor, then there is definitely a break-in schedule. There are many different schools of thought on this, but I really like Endyne's suggestions for break-in of new motors.... --> http://theoldone.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13060

If you change the clutch during the swap, follow the manufacturers directions on properly seating the clutch. It should only be about 500 miles to break a new clutch in. After the break in let it rip.:) It might also be wise to change the oil sooner than you usually do due to the engine sitting around for so long.
