Hi, I have a 1995 Buick LeSabre I have had in the shop three times and they can't seem to fix it. The check engine light has been coming on and off for months now. They have tried everything, even contacted professional mechanic and so far nothing has worked. Have you got any suggestions. The car also has a slight lurch in it from time to time. It only has a little more then 10,000 miles on it. I am retired and need the car, can't really afford a new one but with such little mileage it seems I should be able to have it fixed. They have had it in the shop for almost two weeks, once they thought they had it fixed (installed something, whole thing cost almost $7000) but the light came on again. Thank you for your input, Elizabeth Morris:smile:

Hi Elizabeth,
Did the shop tell you what code was stored in the computor? That will be a big help and will lead us to the problem area. When the light comes on, does the vehicle run rough?
As for the hessitation, you might be due for a set of plugs and/or ignition wires.
Let us know. I'll be watching this post.

:smile:Hi, thanks for the responses, will talk to the shop about the computer code tomorrow, also I have to apologize for the "$7000" misprint...I meant to type "$700" and apparently $500 for some replacement piece which name is in the car and since the car is in the shop, I can't tell you what it is/was. Shall get back to you, and thank you so much for the response...Best, Elizabeth Morris

Sounds like that shop is using the dart board method to fixiing cars!! The comment "even contacted professional mechanic" really worries me.
After spending all that money you didn't even have a professional working on it!

Please post the code stores and what the shop did we may be able to help.

Hi, thanks for your responses re my 1995 Buick LeSabre...the check engine light comes on and off and the shope hasn't been able to find the problem after three weeks of keeping the car (two days inbetween.) Anyway, I talked to the shop owner and he said the code numbers were 126 and 131. I need the car tomorrow so he will get it to me this evening but apparently has not found the problem. Sigh. Thanks again, Best, Elizabeth Morris:smile:

Well a P0131 is a HO2 sensor code I don't know what a P0126 code is, but I would suspect that the H02 sensor is bad, or the wiring going to the sensor is bad!

That vehicle should not have code P0126, unless it is a wrong number they gave you. I'd suggest you take the car in to your GM dealer.
