I have a 95 camaro. When I turn on the ignition all the gauges come on but the ignition will not engage the starter. I can cross the starter and start it but it dies after about 2 seconds. Can someone please help?

Do you have a black resistor on your ignition key?
If yes, turn key to "on", don't crank.....look at the SECURITY light in the dash,,,,should come on for 5 seconds and then go out.....if it STAYS ON, you have a PassKey problem.....the usual problem is that one of the wires to the lock cylinder has broken.....can be checked by reading the resistance of the key, and then installing key in lock cylinder, and then disconnecting the two wire harness in the steering column and reading the resistance at the disconnected harness.....if you get an "OL" reading, one of the wires to the cylinder is broken.....can be fixed by replacing the lock cyinder and key(big job), or getting a resistor with the same resistance as your key and attaching it to the wire harness connector(other half going away from the column)....
