My 2006 has 3 coils and 3 plug wires one coil plugs on top of a plug and also has a plug for a plug wire. Look at the wiring diagram.
Remove the plastic cap on the engine. Their is a metal cover that runs along both sides of the engine. Remove the covers unplug the wires and use an ohm meter. Ohm each plug wire they should about 1/2 scale. If no reading repair or replace. Depending on the mileage check or replace plugs.
Northern or some parts stores have a light you plug into the coil and the other end on the wire. If any coil isn't firing the plug if the plug wires are good replace. LIS20610 is such a tester.
is one type use google search for a picture.
http://www.ebay.com/ Sells plug wires and coils also tester but the tester is high priced.
Remember each coil fires two plugs.

Its highly unlikely you have an ignition coil issue or a spark plug wire issue because cyl 1 plug wire is controlled by cyl 2,4 or 6 coil and the same for 3 and 5(not sure the companion cylinders). Cyl 1,3 and 5 are on bank 1 (pass side). You have a common factor causing the missfires on bank 1. This could be caused by a number of things. engine timing could be off(timing belt), a blown cyl head gasket or warped cyl head, an air leak in intake system is only a few problems. The timing is not easy to check because of the p/s and alt bracket you would have to remove to check camshaft marks. If you have an exhaust gas tester test the coolant first to check for blown head gasket. I would then check for an air leak on bank 1. silicone spray works well along with a can of brake cleaner(you will hear a raise in rpm if there is a leak). Be careful with the spray because you can have fireworks if you hit a hot manifold or arcing plug wire. If no problems found there I would then check the camshaft timing. If you have limited access to tools or limited knowledge of vehicles I would take it to your kia dealership. They can fix it faster and more than likely cheaper because they know the vehicle better. This is not a cut and dried common problem with the sorento.

my sorento has lost power!!! at idle it shakes now and it has now acceleration. It starts up a little slower also. I hear some clicking sound only when im in drive and press on the gas. I stopped and put it in neutral and revvd it up and i dont hear it. I even tried it in park, still nothing. Just when i drive do i hear it. Im hoping its just plugs and wires. any suggestions??

Is the check engine light on?

If so, use the scan tool and tell me the code.

Also, how many miles did it finish?
