Yesterday my car was running fine till I came to a stop light then it just died. I had a hard time getting it back on but when I finally did it ran like crap. I had to keep pumping gas in order for it to stay on. I couldn't just hold my foot on the gas for it to stay on. Once I got it home I changed the fuel filter but still continued. Maybe it's the fuel pump? About a week ago it was making a weird noise when I turned the ignition on and it never did that before. I had it replaced about two years ago too with an ac delco (which I really hate) along with the fuel injectors. Also, there's always a strong scent of fuel around the car when I'm trying to turn it on.
*Update*
I got it to turn on again after I unplugged a vacuum hose off of the map sensor. If I put the hose back on the map sensor the car will just die. I put a new map sensor and that wasn't the problem. Could it be the ECM defective?

Could it be the ECM defective?
Sure, it could be; but I don't think that would be my next troubleshooting step.
Are there any codes...meaning is the "Service Engine Soon" light on and or have you checked for any codes?
