Tbl with BCM, causing a battery drain!

Could the Body Control Module (BCM) give a battery signal to a fan through a Retained Power Relay (RPR) on this car?

I'am thinking there's a stuck on relay, causing the power drain.

If your car is an '04 or newer, when the HVAC blower speed control module fails, they will continue to run even with the key off. This has nothing to do with the RAP or BCM.

Yep!
My friend has a 2004,
found these threads http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=760675
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=747767

It look's like a new cabin filter, clean HVAC dain tube, and a capacitor for the control module connector might do the trick.

A 12vdc battery-capacitor circuit for the HVAC control module.

Also Google ''#05-01-39-001A''

Re: Tbl with BCM, causing a battery drain!

Would a Radio shack 35vdc 470muf capacitor work, instead of 50vdc 330muf ?

It act's like a small battery with ignition off, so the HVAC control module doesn't lose control.

You can also order the capacitor from Digikey, Mouser, or Mcmelectronics.

If a 50v capacitor came out, don't put a 35v in or you'll end up back where you started.

Re: Tbl with BCM, causing a battery drain!

The under hood fuse box, Batt 4 fuse supplys battery for the blower motor control circuit, it stays on with the ignition switch off.

Bingo!

We actually Isolated Batt 4 fuse from the circuit, and used a ignition switch battery instead.

Re: Tbl with BCM, causing a battery drain!

why didn't you just replace the blower speed control module?
