What to buy?

Hello,

I'm shopping for a car, I don't have much experience with cars and I was hoping for advice on what the best deal for me is. I have a thousand dollars to spend and I have it narrowed down to three vehicles...

1982 Datsun Pick-up, 170k miles. Rough exterior.

1989 Escort LX Wagon, 57k miles. Excellent exterior.

2002 Chevy Cavalier, 101k miles, side crash damage, passenger door won't open, window won't roll down.

Thank you for your input!

Re: What to buy?

According to your description , it is the lowest mileage car in the group with no mentioned negative features . You said excellent interior and didn't mention exterior condition so it must be decent as well ? No mention was made about any negative mechanical issues so that doesn't seem to be an issue ? I may be a little biased as I owned an Escort years ago and , generally speaking , it was a pretty good vehicle with minimum problems . Of course , with any vehicle ( new or used ), there is always that potential for problems somewhere down the road . With a new vehicle , you have some protection with a warranty but not so with a used car . You make a decision based on available facts and hope for the best ! Good luck to you !
