Completed : Tamiya 1:20 McLaren M23 (James Hunt - 1976 WK)

It finally finished. At last. I started building it on february 19th, and today it's finished. Just under 3 months work. I'm pretty pleased with the result, although it has a few flaws. But hey, which model hasn't? At least my models are never perfect

Oh yes, the WIP-thread is here.

Here are the pictures : 20 in total.

Enjoy!

First a series with "dressed up" McLarens :

Another 5 dressed-up McLarens, under a different angle:

Without the bodywork the McLaren looks like this (and that's how it will be presented at shows and contests):

And yet another photo-angle:

Questions? Comments? Shoot

Absolutely beautiful!. You've done a fantastic job on this.

Work like this is very inspring to me (and other people too, I'm sure). It makes me want to improve my skills.

Simply amazing work, Guy !

It was already a pleasure following your WIP opcorn:, but the final pictures are really jaw-dropping.
I sincerely hope that you'll show this model in Nieuwegein later this year. I'd love to see it up close.

I wish I could finish a model in 3 months with this much detail (oh, and go to work, and mow the lawn, and do some shopping, etc...).
I really need more hours in a day...

You can count on it. I will enter it in the contest for sure.

To be honest, this was a model that I never intended to be detailled this far. I just wanted to build it straith from the box, but when I saw the flaws of the kit I started to correct them. It kinda happened without me noticing that I was going this far. It got outta hand, and look where it brought me

Beautiful job Guy - you just need a pack of James' favourite cigs on the side pod!

Excellent build Guy. You should be very proud of yourself on this one. F1 subjects are my favorite.

Engine looks great, paint looks great, everything is just superb...
Nicely done in your limited time build for each kit.
