Why is the VW so challenging to do simple things? I'd love any and all guidance on replacing the fuel, air, and cabin (ie dust and pollen) filters in my '02 Passat. Thanks! KD

Air filter change:

I'm looking for a write-up on the air filter so that I don't have to try to do one from memory for you.

Dear OOPsst, You are awesome!! thanks so much for the info on the cabin filter and fuel filter. I'm looking forward to some info on the air filter if you have access to it...if it's not too much trouble. You make it all sound pretty do-able! K

No worries - happy to help but too lazy to retype the write ups. LOL.

Good luck with your maintenance items and just a suggestion but keep your receipts for the items you buy and make yourself a spreadsheet documenting the dates of all maintenance so that if there ever comes a time that you need proof you did it, you'll have it. VW is particularly anal about making sure all maintenance was done according to schedule before they'll agree to do warranty work or recall work.
