2000 Passat - Sounds like an exhaust leak but not sure

I have a 2000 1.8t Passat w 51k miles, when I first start the car the morning it runs really loud until the car warms up, then it idles fine but when I accelerate it begins to run loud again almost like an exhaust leak. No check engine light on or any indication that anything is wrong. Any ideas? Thanks

Have it checked for an exhaust leak.

What this sounds like is a broken exhaust manifold. The break closes up as the parts heat and expand but are separated again when the engine "torques"
