mx6/b2200 hybrid
this newb wants to put 12v head,EFI, turbo/intercooler, ECU and engine harness from 88MX cancer victim onto 93 B2200. No prob with head bolt pattern, but cam/ distrubutor VERY different. 8v head assy on truck engine has front engine cover housing w/90' gear driven distrib as well as cam/crank pulleys, timing belt, and coolant passages. Similar cover on 12v assy is on"rear" of head for coolant passages, sensors, and direct drive distributor, but cam/crank pulleys and t. belt on front. Plenty of room for induction, intercooler, turbo and exhaust. Very little mods to engine harness to make 90' turn. MX distrib will not clear firewall and coolant inlet will be at rear of head. Not sure if belt/pulley alignment for 12v head same as 8v block setup. One-off custom can waayy tooo much. MX tb uses 24x/2x Ne/Ge signals per rpm so aftermkt cam crank triggers will not work with stock ECU. Aftrmkt ignition plus efi controller is more than custom paint job. Thinking firewall modification best bet with stock distributor, but not sure of timing belt alignment at front and coolant passages/hose routing to rear. Any thoughts or solutions?

Re: mx6/b2200 hybrid
best advice is to swap the blocks. Just replace the entire thing. All The blocks are identical between a b2200, mx6 and probe. The coolest thing to do is swap the tranny. U can put any 79-91 RX7 tranny or if u have the money a 6-SPEED tranny out of a 99+ miata in there. I am doing the same swap for my mechanical engineering degree project. To solve the coolant problem, I can think of only one solution so far, braded steel lines. It will cost an assload to buy so find somebody that can make u one up it will be much cheaper and u can probably get somebody that works at a mill or at a large machine shop to make u up the lines. Plus it will look wicked!!
