S10 94 Blazer battery drain??
Ive got a 94 s10 Blazer. The battery started dying a couple weeks ago. its fine when running with the voltmeter over 14. I checked connections at the battery. Replced the terminal bolts. The belt is perfect. Replaced the wire from the alt. to the battery. Got a new battery. Checked the alt. at Napa. I was under the impression it would not start if the fusible link was bad. I will try to locate a short. Then I will replace the starter which looks very unaccessible. Do you think I am on the right track?

Have you installed anything new recently? If so that's probably where your problem is.
Next look at any aftermarket stereo's, amps, alarms, ect. Next comes the starter. |

Re: S10 94 Blazer battery drain??
Overboard is probably right check any new electrical items first.
I have seen an alternator work and still be bad - I pulled my alternator had it tested everyone said it was ok butt my new battery kept going dead, I finally broke down took it to a shop they said it was my alternator, they said it had a ground short in it that when the car was running it would operate normal but when I turn the key off it would slowly drain the battery, I didnt have anything to loose so I replaced the alternator and sure enough it corecter the problem. Good luck |
