Pedro Rodríguez on sunday morning just after giving the car to Lucien Bianchi in 1968. They won in the Ford GT40.

1966 24 Hours of Le Mans
Ford GT40 team in the Le Mans pits, 1966: Ken Miles and Denny Hulme (1) finished second; Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon (2) won; Dick Hutcherson and Ronnie Bucknum (3) finished third. Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt won in a GT40 Mark IV in 1967.

Similar to the 1966 Le Mans winning GT40, this chassis finished second in the Daytona 24 Hours and 1000 km of Spa in the same year.

Jacky Ickx and Jackie Oliver won the 1969 24 Hours of Le Mans (closest Le Mans finish ever) in a GT40 Mk1 Gulf.

New GT to be raced
"Mark LoPilato had planned on bringing the Ford GT into WCGT competition but he and his team have thought it best to develop the package this year and bring the GT into full competition in 2007. LoPilato will instead run the US American Resources Porsche he raced in 2005 while the Ford GT is readied for primetime. Here is a Ford GT i saw in my city. It's the new one, so don't get angry at me for not posting the old ones.
As you can see, this one looks just like the older ones, except more modern. |
