Welcome to AF.

What engine ? How many miles ????

I would say check your trans fluid level, but obviously you cant do that without a lift.

But its sounds like you need a new transmission or at least major repairs.
Might start shoppin for a trans shop.

It is a 99 alero 2.4 liter. 130,000 miles. I have checked the fluid, it is full. Somebody told me there could be an orfice or something clogged internally??

Re: 99 alero

Yes it could be a clog but when left unchecked and continued use ... it doesnt end well. If you can scan it for trouble codes, trans codes specificly you might get lucky and it just be a shift solenoid, but the trans would still need pulled to do these repairs.

Has the transmission ever been serviced, fluid & filter change ?
