oil leak
I have an 88 carburated festiva that has started blowing oil out of the vent tube that goes to the air filter. From there, oil ends up everywhere. Any ideas?

Re: oil leak
Welcome to AF!
The vent tube that goes to the air cleaner is to handle blowby that isn't taken care of by the Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve. The PCV valve could be plugged shut so replace it first. If that doesn't help route the hose that goes into the air cleaner to a container or with an extension put on it, route it outside the engine compartment. Otherwise, the oil will make a mess not to mention blocking the air filter. |

Re: oil leak
Thanks for the info. The pcv valve does have some suction, probably not enough. When I pulled it off to check it the motor did not sound much different, no where close to stalling out. Rerouting to a seperate container sounds like a good quick fix, at least I can save the oil it is blowing out.
