sub doesnt go to music

when i hook my amp and my sub up the sub just good du du du du du du du and doesnt play the beat of the music....everything is hooked up right what is the problem??

damn Haibane, how you gleaned that from that explanation is beyond me.. I'm still scratching my head. ???

Gorilla, for my benefit, can you explain a little further? is it at least du du du'ing to the beat of the music or is it an entirely different sound?

What he means is when he plugs in the sub it goes boom boom boom boom real quickly without following the music. He is getting a bad signal of some sort
