2004 Cavalier Transmission output shaft wobbles

I have a loud thumping sound coming from my right side front end when driving, i have replaced the wheel hub and cv shaft and it didn't help. then i noticed the output shaft in the transmission that the cv shaft connects to, is wobbling. how do i change the bearing, i have seen videos on replacing the seal but nothing showing how to fix the wobble

Re: 2004 Cavalier Transmission output shaft wobbles

The shaft will wobble of the half-shaft is removed. The bearing supports the outer diameter of the half-shaft inner CV member. If it is wobbling with the CV axle in place the bearing OR axle could be at fault. Measure the OD of the half-shaft to confirm this.

This might be informative:

That bearing is sometimes called an "Axle Stabilizer Support" bearing depending upon where you shop.
